QPP Reporting Requirements for ACO Members


A frequently asked question by ACO members is “Is it true that I do not need do anything for the Quality Payment Program because I am in an ACO?”
The answer is that you will probably still need to report the Promoting Interoperability measures  (formerly the Advancing Care Information measures) on your own. These measures include ePrescribing, Provide Patient Access, Health Information Exchange, Patient Specific Education, Secure Messaging, Public Health reporting, and more. This means you will need:
  • An EIDM account to enter data into the QPP portal at
  • 2014 or 2015 Certified EHR Technology  (CEHRT)
  • To decide which measure set you are going to report: “2018 Promoting Interoperability Measures” or “2018 Promoting Interoperability Transition Measures”.  
  • To monitor your progress regularly to be sure you are meeting all of the parameters
  • To perform a Security Risk Assessment prior to December 31, 2018
Your practice’s Promoting Interoperability score will be combined with the scores of all of the other practices in your ACO  to calculate one ACO Promoting Interoperability score. Please contact your ACO representative if you have any questions or need guidance on exactly what you need to do.
