ACO Members Need to Know Who is Responsible for Reporting Which MIPS Categories

If you belong to an Accountable Care Organization (ACO), it is recommended that you contact your ACO as soon as possible to ensure you know who is responsible for reporting each of the MIPS categories to CMS.
Usually the ACO is responsible for the quality and improvement activity categories but each TIN is responsible for the Promoting Interoperabilty (PI) category. Failure to submit PI measure data will result in a PI category score of zero.
The Alternative Payment Model (APM) scoring standard for 2018 has a PI category weight of 30%, which means that failure to report PI data may result in a loss of 30 MIPS points.
